Woke up later than we did during RAGBRAI so that it was light out. Left Muscatine at 6 am, 67 degrees. Biked through Davenport to Moline going by a large John Deer plant and museum. Crossed river and biked the Hennepin Canal Parkway, found that it is not very well maintained, had to pull our bikes over a fallen tree and navigate other obstacles. Did about 10 miles on the trail and then started to bike county 6 which parallels HWY 80. Bike computer did not start for first couple of miles, says we did 75 miles, which is better than the 55.5 mile average needed to make the train from Washington DC. Booked our first hotel, Best Western. It was great to be able to have a good shower, and to be able to clean my bike clothes. Had dinner at Subway, set the tent up to dry it out. Google maps says that we have 938 miles to go
