Long day, left Virgin River Hotel and Casino, did 54.33 mile total, after a relatively flat 4 miles we rode 25 miles up hill and then did ~18 miles down hill. Left Nevada, went through Arizona, and into Utah. We have now crossed into moutain time. Dan had 3 flats, first on the BOB wheel at mile 20 out caused by a small wire the size of a needle, possibly from a sreaded truck tire. Later the front tire picked up a small piece of brown glass, most likely broken beer bottle. This section of 91 was very littered with beer bottles and even two old cars in the ditch. The patch on the BOB did not hold and was redone in St. George. We are staying in Marriott Town Hill Suites on the north east side of St. George. The views were awesome, the smells and flowers along the road.

  1. You just went through the best part view-wise of the whole trip. Awesome canyon country. Sounds like you’re getting tuned up spysically for the Rockies challenge. I think you peak out in he Rockies mountain-wise at the Eisenhower tunnel. Once you hit th east side of Denver put it on autopilot. Its a boring ride from there to Iowa. Unless you get some wicked thunderstorms!
