Woke up at 5am, got the bikes ready to go and then walked across the street to Donna’s Prairie Cafe which opens up at 5:30. I had scrambled eggs, sausage links, and toast. On the road by 6:30.
No wind, stopped in towns Clarks, Silver Creek & Duncan which were spread every 10 miles. The only difference from biking the shoulder of hwy 30 is today there was a large number of dead frogs.
Biked 40.66, average speed of 14.7, in by 10:30, the heat index is going to be over 100. Staying at the Sundown Motel. One of the Motel residents decided to practice his guitar from about 9pm to 11, not sure what he was playing but it kept me awake. At ~1:30 a loud thundershower came through, glad that we were inside.
