Biked 57 miles, two slight rises, see the pictures. 45 miles out my back tire started to go flat, found small wire from truck tire, pulled the wire out of the casing and patched the tube.
Breakfast was at McDonald’s, they opened at 5:30 and Dan was the first one at the counter. Lunch was a $4.99 6″ personal pizza with drink at a place in downtown Fillmore.
We will be staying at the Capital Motel in downtown Fillmore.
When we got to the Motel I found that my front tire was going flat. Pulled another of the small wires out of the casing and patched the very small hole. The hazarards of biking the Interstate shoulder.
Washed bike outfit at the hotel, also had to mend my bike shorts.

  1. Hey Wayne:

Buy Specialized Kevlar Tires…. your flat problems will go away.

  2. I have two Specialized Armadillo tires, while they do keep out glass and small stones they are not able to keep the truck wires out.
