Barstow to Las Vegas
165 miles in a U-Haul, 7.5 on the bike. Dinner was a peanut butter sandwich, thank you Dan.
Hesperia to Barstow
49 miles in just over 3 hours, followed old route 66 for most of the ride. Made in to Barstow in time for Dan to have his McDonald’s breakfast. Tonight is a Hotel 6 with a pool.
Riverside to Hesperia, up hill & offroad
Out 12 hours, 60 miles on the OD. Started the day in very light drizzel, made a wrong turn at Lytle Creak rode which added 3 miles. Started the day early, 4:30, road 50.87, did dirt road, closed road, and then no road (path between fields used by workers. Overcast untilled ~10am and then the sun came out strong. Getting ready to get on the road
Hab a good nights sleep be it short, got to the Marriot hotel at 1am, front desk did not find our reservation, Dan was able to get the front desk to give two rooms at his employees rate. It was good to sleep in a bed that did not move.

The train is finally going along the ocean coast line. Closer to the end of the train ride, loving that.

Slow day on the train, reading a book, taking a nap, enjoying the views.
Portland Train Station
Need to transfer to the south bound train. Goodbye to a great train ride. Met some great people, the best was Ray, the blind Guy across the hall from our room. We now need to wait 4 hours for the next train. Today is a much better day than yestersday, we are on track.
