57.78 miles today, would have been 4 less if we did not continue after the paved road that was follow hwy 15 ended and turned into a gravel road. After going 2 miles checked the Droids map and found we were headed to nowhere close to our route. The attached picture is from the underpass that got us back to hwy 15. Nevada allows biking the shoulder of freeway’s otside of major towns like Las Vegas. We biked 18 miles on hwy 15 today. Tomorrow will be all 15.
The hotel was better than tenting in the 90 degree heat. Tomorrow will be short day to Mesquite. Dan is glad to be out of Las Vegas.

  1. Way cool to follow your progress-love your blog for that!! Have a great, safe journey.

  2. At mile marker 72 we started biking the shoulder of highway 15. The transition was miserable. First there was the the 2 mile gravel path misadventure. It was determined we were going down the wrong path. Two mile backtrack on the same gravel path. Then there was the portage over large rocks and boulders twice to cross underneath 15 southbound lanes first then the northbound lanes. A very steep climb up to freeway had us pushing and pulling our bikes and trailers wearing me out in process. At mile marker 90 we pulled off at Glendale where both myself and Wayne were oh so convinced there would be absolutely no lodging of which we had become quite accustomed to. Turns out there was a motel. – what a relief. 2 room was obtained and there.is our day beginning in.Lad Vegas.ended.
